Dan Mclellan has been named the Aspire PFC captain from the start of the 2026/27 season onwards.
After leading the team to eight Premiership titles, eight WFA Cups and an EPFA Champions Cup, Jon Bolding has decided to hand over the armband.
Bolding is the epitome of a captain, marshalling his club and country to success since the dawn of the sport.
Jon Bolding said: "I feel the time is right now because Dan is the future of this team and the sport. He is so mature for his age and has the leadership skills that I saw in myself at his age.
"This will help him grow even more as a player, with the extra responsibility to drive this team forward. Dan has all the attributes that make a captain and so he is the perfect fit for the role
"Dan is like a little brother to me, he is an inspiration to many both on and off the pitch. The way he conducts himself is second to none and the talent he has on the pitch shows for itself.
"I am privileged to know and call him my mate and cannot wait for him to flourish in this new position and hopefully one day I will hand my captain's armband from England down to him too."
Dan Mclellan is 17 years old and has been at the club for five years. In that time he has already won the Premiership, a WFA Cup and the EPFA Champions Cup.
At Aspire, Dan has transformed from an inexperienced young player, to a fully-fledged England Senior international, winning the Premiership Young Player of the Season award in three of the five years he has competed.
Dan Mclellan said: "Aspire means everything to me. It is the club that I have developed at, and spent almost my entire career with.
"It is such a privilege to be given the captaincy by Jon, a true legend of the game. I will continue to give my all to the team, and I hope that more trophies and incredible memories will come soon.
"Jon has been the best role model I could have hoped for, we have such a close relationship on and off the court, and I vow to him proud with the armband."
Jon Bolding will remain Head Coach of Aspire PFC alongside his new responsibility of coaching the Aspire Warriors.
