International Heartbreak For Aspire Aces

Jon Bolding and Dan Mclellan have fallen agonisingly short of European glory after losing to France in the EPFA Cup final in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy.

England won their group comfortably, before beating Belgium 1-0 with a goal in extra time to secure their place in this evening’s final.

France, the world champions, narrowly defeated the Three Lions in the final 1-0. Jon Bolding captained his country, while Dan Mclellan was utilised as a substitute towards the end of the final to try and get England back into the game.

Unfortunately, an enjoyable tournament didn’t have the desired ending for England. Aspire’s Dan Mclellan was England’s top scorer in the competition.

Our England international’s attention now turns back to a huge season of club football, before the World Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October 2026.
